Big Island Roadrunners will be hold its second annual Wayne “Big Dog” Joseph 5 K Walk/Run on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.
The event is open to all and there is no time limit. The run was named after Joseph, the longtime club president and Hilo marathon director. Wayne passed away earlier this year after a long battle with cancer.
The event starts and ends at the Coconut Island parking lot in Hilo at 7:30 p.m., with sign-ups just before the start.
The event is free, however, participants are encouraged to bring canned goods for the Food Basket and/or to make a monetary donation to the Wayne “Big Dog” Joseph Scholarship fund.
